Attendance and Timekeeping

School gates open at 8.30am and doors to bases are opened at 8.40am. Please ensure that your child is in school on time - registers close at 8.50am. If you arrive late, your child will need to register at the office.

If your child is absent from school, we ask parents to call the school (01395  263961) by 8.45am that day and talk to a member of staff or leave a voicemail with a reason for the absence.   Unless we are given an acceptable reason for the absence, we must assume it is unauthorised and must record it as such.

If your child is not in school and we have had no contact from you, we will try to call the people on your child's contact list as part of our 'Safe to School' scheme. If we are unable to make contact and your child is still not in school, we will let other agencies know - your child's safety is our main priority.

If it is absolutely necessary for you to take your child out of school during term time, a request form for an authorised absence is available from the school office or can be downloaded here.  You will need to sign your child out if you are leaving before the end of the school day.

Illness and Medicines

If your child is ill and cannot come to school, please call the school on 01395  263961 and leave a message. Please call first thing in the morning, by 8.45am.  Please do not send children to school if they are not properly fit, as the demands of school life rarely helps them to recover. Please allow 48 hours after the last bout of vomiting or diarrhoea before returning to school, as this helps stop the bug from spreading.

For guidance on infection control (how long to keep your child at home and whether treatment is recommended), please  download this poster.

If children suffer an accident or feel unwell at school, we will do our best to contact parents so that you are able to determine and arrange treatment.

If it is necessary for a prescribed drug to be administered during the day, please come to the school office personally, deliver the medicine and complete the authorisation form.
