Welcome to Wingnut and Elder Base!
This half-term in Year 2
Welcome back to the Summer term!
Key Information:
- For Elder and Wingnut, PE will be on Wednesday - please wear PE kit including trainers
- Please bring reading records to school on a Friday for the 3 reads check
- Library Day will be Friday (changing interest books)
- Please make sure that reading records come to school every day- thank you
This half term, we will be:
- In Literacy we will be exploring a non fiction text called Plundering Pirates!
- in Maths we will be learning how to measure length and height, capacity, mass and temperature as well as time, statistics, position and direction.
- In Science we will be continuing our learning about plants, and also recap plant parts we can eat.
- in our Computing sessions, we have been learning how to code, and designing and creating a programme and quiz.
- In Design and technology we will be learning about wheels and axels
- In PE we will be striking and fielding
- In History we are learning explorers and pirates from the past, including Frances Drake and Sir Walter Raleigh!
To support your child at home:
This term we are offering a 'pick and mix' homework menu! Please choose some tasks from the menu to complete each week.
